Indie Games I’ve Worked On

Title: Earthbound Extraterrestrial

This was a game jam entry in which we were forced to use a limited asset pool for audio and visuals. The game was created using the Godot Engine in one week. We placed 15th out of 453.

My work:

  • All dialogue and writing

  • Design feedback on game mechanics and mini games

  • Game structure and flow to stay in scope

Players particularly enjoyed my writing based on the comments. The game was built and programmed by Musniro.

Title: Gloomglow: Prologue

This was a mostly solo project for the Gameboy Showdown game jam, in which we had to make a game that could literally run on actual GB hardware and emulators. I used GB Studio and this prototype is fully playable on real hardware or in your browser.

Highlights:

  • Programs Used: GB Studio, Tiled, and GIMP

  • Wrote all dialogue and world-building

  • Sourced and licensed artwork, adapting it for GB limitations and requirements

  • Designed all game systems and built all levels

Original music was created by SaveStateCorrupted.

Title: Moments

This game is a piece of interactive fiction created in Twine for the Serenity Forge Game Jam, which had a ‘healing’ theme. The artwork was created by a friend, Kevin Zhang, while I wrote everything and built the game in Twine over a single weekend.

Moments is a reflective story in which you play as an elderly man looking through a photo album at key moments from his life in reverse chronological order. It’s meant to be a deeply emotional and introspective game about the fleeting moments of life.

We won the ‘Audience Choice’ award in the game jam.
